Fero mobile unveils Iris scanner smartphone in Kenya

Leading Mobile brand Fero has Tuesday unveiled its latest smart phone device Fero Iris in the Kenyan market Fero Iris comes with a unique security feature that allows users to unlock their screens using their eyes. 

The device comes with a 5-inch HD display with a1GB RAM, powered by a 2500mAh battery.

Speaking during the launch of the Fero Iris device in Nairobi, Fero Mobile Head of International Marketing Vivek Chaudhary said the brand is focused on introducing innovative solutions that are designed to enhance the customer experience.

“This new technology provides unrivaled convenience to users and allows them to interact with their devices even in the extreme conditions, “said Vivek Chaudhary- Head of Fero marketing.

Mr. Chaudhary noted that with these innovations, Fero Mobile is aiming to increasing productivity among users and give them a new experience.

“Fero Mobile’s development strategy is driven by a blend of technological innovation, consumer upgrade cycles and our business and marketing needs,” Chaudhary explained

“The smartphone market is saturated with new advanced features every day. This demands for smart and fresh ideas for predecessors of each phone,” he opined.

According to International Data Corporation (IDC), global smartphone sales went up by 2.3 per cent to 1.47 billion units in 2016 leading to the smartphone industry tapping into advanced technologies and innovations for emerging smartphones.

During the launch, Fero Mobile announced a partnership deal with Jumia Online Retailer to make Fero Iris and other Fero devices available across the country.

The partnership will see consumers enjoy the best mobile phones at the most competitive prices.

Mr. Vivek noted that the Kenyan smartphone market has continued to experience substantial growth as a result of combination of a strong economic climate and increasing internet and mobile connectivity.

In her remarks, Jumia’s Head of Category – Mobile Phones – SanazAbaiesaid the Kenyan mobile phone market offers a favorable competitive landscape, giving consumers a wide range of choice and an opportunity for brands to innovate even more.
