Ruiru businessman shot dead

A prominent Ruiru businessman Kariuki Mushina was shot dead by unknown assailants near Waki stage along the Thika superhighway.

The prominent businessman is said to have been driving alone on the busy Thika superhighway, from Thika towards Nairobi, when unknown people in a saloon car shot him dead and took off.

The motive of killing was not immediately known as the assailants in an unmarked saloon car disappeared after the incident.

According to Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira, the businessman was driving from Thika to Nairobi when the incident occurred at Waka stage along Thika Superhighway.

Thuranira said the motive of the killing is still known but police suspect business rivalry.

The incident attracted a huge crowd as curious onlookers milled around the scene of crime to have a glimpse.

Police are yet to apprehend the assailants and have commenced investigations into the killing.
