Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has distanced himself from remarks by Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze that he was ready to leave the National Super Alliance NASA if denied the presidential ticket.
Kalonzo who is also one of the NASA’s co-principals said Nyenze’s sentiments were based on personal opinion.
In a veiled defense of Nyenze, Kalonzo said the Kitui West MP made the remarks out of provocation by his Gem Counterpart Jakoyo Midiwo.
He said he was in NASA to stay and reiterated he was the best bet to send Jubilee home.
But speaking separately, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya said NASA would remain steadfast and whoever wanted to quit was free to do so.
Elsewhere, ODM aspirants in Busia have closed the party’s office in the region to protest the composition of the election board that will supervise nominations. The aspirants threatened to disrupt party primaries if the board is not reconstituted.
