Gor Mahia 1-0 Zoo Kericho (Moi Stadium)
On a Saturday Nzoia Sugar held Mathare, Chemelil Sugar and Kakamegao United cancelled out, and Post Rangers, Bandari shared the spoils, Gor Mahia registered the only win of the day at home to Zoo Kericho in Kisumu.
Zoo struggled to get into this much against their vastly experienced opponents. Nixon Omulanda picked up a second yellow card for a foul on Muguna and was consequently sent off on 90 minutes to sum up the newcomers’ afternoon.
Chemelil Sugar 1-1 Kakamega Homeboyz (Chemelil Stadium)
Homeboyz opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when winger David Okoth headed home a long free kick floated into the penalty area by defender Athman Buki.
Chemelil captain David Ojuang levelled matters in the 75th minute, collecting the ball from the midfield and unleashing a thunderous shot that swished home.
Nzoia Sugar 0-0 Mathare United (Sudi Stadium)
A lot of eyes were on Nzoia United following their 5-2 demolition of reigning champions Tusker last weekend, but no goal materialized either side.
Mathare were reduced to 10 men after Edwin Mwaura recorded his second booking with 12 minutes to go.
And at Thika County Stadium travelling Bandari could not find a way past resolute Posta Rangers in a 0-0 draw.
