Former Sportpesa premier league champions Gor Mahia will open their 2017 league season on Sunday afternoon against debutants Kariobangi Sharks at the Thika Municipal Stadium.
The 2015 champions KO’galo will be hoping to start their campaign on a winning note after they lost the title to Tusker Fc last season.
In other matches on card today Mathare United will take on Thika united while Sony Sugar host on Chemelil Sugar.
Muhoroni Youth will play Western Stima as Zoo Kericho take on Posta Rangers.
The 2017 league season kicked off yesterday after it was delayed for more than a month by differences between league managers KPL and Football Kenya Federation.
Football Kenya Federation wanted to increase the number of teams in the 2017 league to 18 but KPL was defiant and wanted to retain the 16 teams that took part in the league last season.
