KNCCI to take drastic measures on individuals involved in corruption

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) have put on notice all business individuals involved in corrupt dealings in the country.

KNCCI Chairman Kiprono Kittony says the chamber will take drastic measures against corrupt individuals who have derailed investments in the country.

Kenya is ranked as the regional economic powerhouse, belonging to the 60 percent of the growing economies.

Kenya has been climbing the ranks as far as the ease of doing business is concerned, making it one of the best investment destinations in the world.

However despite the strides, corruption still remains a major hindrance for businesses in the country.

KNCCI is keen on ensuring the corruption vice in businesses companies is dealt with.

This even as the chamber has been urged to take up the role of blacklisting corrupt individuals and companies in the country to ensure business policies are not interfered with.

The business community in the country and county governments have also been encouraged to have joint initiatives so as to grow the economy and create job opportunities for the youth.

They were speaking during the 3rd Edition of the Mombasa Business Awards, meant to reward the most outstanding companies within Mombasa county that have excelled in various categories of their businesses.
