Kirwa and Chebii win kalya half marathon

Moses Kirwa and Eunice Chebii were crowned winners of the Kalya Half Marathon held in Kapenguria, both walking away with a cash prize of a hundred thousand shillings each.

Kirwa won the men’s 21 kilometre race in one hour and 22 seconds finishing ahead of Hosea Muok who was second in one hour, six minutes and 23 seconds and Jakoyo Kibet who settled for the bronze in one hour, six minutes and 46 seconds.

Eunice Chebii won the ladies race in one hour, 16 minutes and 43 seconds ahead of Lucy Cheruyoit who clocked one hour, 16 minutes and 50 seconds and Naomi Chebet who crossed the line third two minutes later.

Second and third placed finishers walked pocketed 75,000 and 50,000 shillings each respectively.
