World champion Yego added to Turku’s javelin field

World Javelin champion Julius Yego will line up in the IAAF World Challenge meeting in Turku , Finland on 13th June.
According to the organizers of the event Yego will join Olympic champion Thomas Rohler of Germany in the IAAF meeting.
2012 Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott, 2007 World champion Tero Pitkamaki and Johannes Vetter of Germany complete the star studded field.
All the five men have personal best time of beyond 89 meters.
Rohler won in Turku last year, throwing a world personal best leading of 91.28m to add more than two metres to the meeting record Pitkamaki set in 2015.
Elsewhere, five time World cross country champion Paul Tergat has declared interest to vie for the chairmanship during the NOCK elections set for the 5th of May this year.
Tergat has decided to go for the top seat following the mismanagement witnessed during the 2016 Olympic Games and he believes he has what it takes to serve the sportsmen and women in the country.
His aim is to create a strong sense of togetherness in a bid to have a strong cohesion as the Olympic family in this country.
The 48 year old Tergat is one of the world’s greatest long distance runners in history having won five World Cross-Country titles, two World Half Marathon titles, and two silver Olympic medals before being elected an IOC member in 2013.
