DStv, Telkom Kenya partner to offer bundled Internet to customers

Leading video entertainment provider, DStv and integrated telecommunication solutions provider, Telkom Kenya, have partnered to offer Kenyans value on both entertainment and Internet at an affordable cost.
For every purchase of a DStv High Definition decoder, at a cost of KSh 3,800, a customer will get a free Orange WiFi router and 30GB free Internet bundles together with one month viewing of the DStv Compact Bouquet in a special promotion dubbed DStv Na Net.
“We listen to our customers to understand their changing lives and what matters most to them. The Internet has today evolved into a basic need as an essential for doing business, in addition to connecting with family and friends on social networks,” says DStv Sales and Distribution Manager, Steve Kombo.
“In this regard, it is therefore a key goal for DStv and Telkom Kenya to empower many more consumers to experience the best television entertainment on DStv and at the same time the most affordable Internet through easy and affordable access. It is also part of our contribution to the Vision 2030 that recognises the enabling role of ICTs and anchors some of its key aspirations upon the availability and adoption of broadband technologies for all.”
Telkom Kenya’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, George Mlaghui says the Telco is committed to providing innovative, accessible and refreshingly simple communications solutions to suit the everyday communication needs of Kenyans. “This Wi-Fi router, the Domino, is a high speed plug and play data product that supports up to 15 users. The free 30 GB Internet bundle goes to show that we have the customer at heart and want to give them the opportunity of trying out our data offering and making an informed long-term choice of Internet service provider, as a result of their experience on our network,” says Mlaghui.
“There has been an appreciation of the Internet’s use in the country, with the latest statistics from the Communication Authority of Kenya showing about 85% Internet penetration. The convenience of the Internet and its impact in simplifying the lives of our customers and Kenyans, makes this partnership with DStv, another demonstrable example of the Internet’s integration into everyday living,” adds Mlaghui.

Customers can purchase the DStv HD decoder bundled with the Orange Wi-Fi router at Multichoice Service Centres at T-Mall, Sarit Centre and Greenspan Malls in Nairobi as well as all leading retail and dealer outlets countrywide.
Telkom Kenya customers can also subscribe to the Xcell data bundles due to their simplicity and affordability, giving subscribers the choice of buying the Xcell weekly bundles for KSh.990 for 15GB and the monthly bundles for KSh.2990 for 30GB. The Telco also recently dropped its off-net call rates for their bundled offerings of Holla Plus and Holla Premium to KSh 1.80 from the previous KSh 3.00.
The DStv Na Net offer will allow subscribers to view the best family entertainment at the most affordable price. DStv Compact opens up a world of Premier League and La Liga on SuperSport 11 & SuperSport 12, Sportpesa Premier League on SS9East, soapies for romance lovers with channels like Telemundo and Eva+, fashion and entertainment news on E! Entertainment, Spice TV and Fashion One, and local shows and movies on, Maisha Magic East and Maisha Magic Bongo.
