Harambee Stars set for another friendly in April

National football team Harambee Stars will next play against Malawi in their third international friendly match this year.
The match is scheduled to be played on 15th April at Machakos County stadium.
The Malawi friendly will however involve local based players only as Kenya focuses on the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) set to be hosted in January next year across Nairobi, Mombasa, Embu, Meru and Machakos towns.
Coach Stanley Okumbi’s charges registered their first win in 2017 after beating Democratic Republic of Congo 2-1 yesterday when striker Michael Olunga scored both goals for the Stars.
Last week, Harambee Stars had settled for a one all draw with Uganda Cranes in another international friendly played at the same venue.
Kenya will be making its debut in the CHAN come next year which will be in its fifth edition.
Democratic Republic of Congo is the defending champion after them winning the 2016 edition that was held in Kigali, Rwanda after beating Mali three nil in the final.
