ODM Party nominations will be free and democratic, says Nanok

Turkana governor Josphat Nanok has promised aspirants seeking elective posts on ODM party that the nominations will free, fair and democratic in the County.
“The party nomination exercise will be transparent, be done according to the Constitution and reflect the wishes of people by allowing them choose the right leaders of their choice,” Nanok said.
Speaking on Monday at the burial of the former Napetet ward councillor, the late Andrew Ibrahim Logiron, Governor Josphat Nanok also told ODM aspirants not to expect any favours either from the party or him.
“ODM candidates should not expect any favours either from the party or me. Those elected by the people will be the right choice of the people and the right leadership for the party,” he said.
He added that all candidates should be free to look for votes without fear of the party giving preference to particular people or any consideration in kind.
The Governor said ODM will lead by example by carrying out transparent and democratic nominations unlike shambled nominations being done by some political parties. He cautioned those vying for various political positions not to hire goons to cause chaos and bloodshed in the name of getting more votes to win.
ODM nominations are slotted for April 15, 2017.
