By Buckley Fedha
The Kenya national rugby sevens team has once again failed to secure a quarterfinal slot at the 4th leg of this season’s HSBC Sevens World Series in Sydney, Australia.
This is after the team lost the first two pool matches to series leaders South Africa and England and beating Japan.
Kenya begun well against South Africa getting the first try in the opening minutes of the match to lead 7-0 at half time, but the tables were turned in the second period as South Africa managed secure two converted tries to narrowly win 14-7.
The Kenyan team had a perfect start to their first match against England again scoring the first try of the match to lead 7-0 at half time but again slipped in the second half conceding three tries to narrowly lose 19-12.
Kenya defeated Japan 17-12 in their last group match played this afternoon.
After the Sydney leg, Kenya will return home to prepare for the 5th and 6th legs of the series to be held in Las Vegas and Vancouver in March.
