Kenya is sinking deeper into corruption, claims Raila

Opposition leader Raila Odinga claims the county has lost war on corruption. Raila claimed Kenya was slowly returning to super league of corruption due to failure by the government to act decisively on the looters of the economy.
The ODM leader claims the government is planning to borrow 80 billion shillings to offset its ballooning debt yet most of the borrowed money went to the pockets of a few individuals.
With the recent Transparency International perception corruption index claiming Kenya was sliding backwards after being ranked among the 20 most corrupt countries, Raila says the Jubilee administration should take full responsibility for the state of corruption in the country.
The opposition leader is now alleging that those in authority are shying away from confronting the dragon that is the runaway corruption in the country.
He says the government is planning to borrow 80 billion shillings to pay for the huge debts it has amassed.
He has dismissed allegations that he is protecting ODM political leaders associated with corruption. Raila is also claiming that the government has enlisted the services of some state agencies in readiness to rig the August polls warning that he won’t be intimidated to silence.
Raila says of the measures put in place four years ago to fight graft among them an MOU signed with the US Government, tabling the list of shame, vetting of revenue officers, and a code of conduct for companies doing businesses in Kenya, no positive results have been achieved.
According to the opposition leader the recent report by Transparency International should occasion an emergency Cabinet meeting to deliberate on the vice.
The opposition leader is also claiming the government was employing state machinery in the ongoing voter registration campaign to whip up it supporters.
Raila claimed that the government had enlisted the services of some state agencies in readiness to rig the August polls warning that he won’t be intimidated to silence.
Immediately after addressing a press conference, the opposition leader embarked on the mass voter registration mobilization tour of Kakamega County where he urged the youth to turn out in large numbers and register as voters.
Raila repeated his now famous slogan that the August polls will be won by the outcome of the mass voter registration exercise which ends on the 14th of next month.
And ANC Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi was on the same mission in Kitale to mobilize support for the opposition in the August 2017 elections.
