Kenyans receive surprise 2016 KCPE Results

Parents and guardians across the country were in shock this morning as they received the unanticipated news of the announcement of the just concluded KCPE results.
The news came at first in a series of unconfirmed reports which spread like wildfire across the nation’s newsrooms and subsequently phone lines were jammed with inquiries of what appeared to be speculation.
The results of over 950,000 pupils in over 10,000 schools are being released a one month to the expected date at the Kenya Institute Of Curriculum Development in Nairobi.
The results are coming less than 24 hours after the completion of the KCSE examinations.
Kenyans are expected to see the re-introduction of ranking for schools and candidates, a system that had previously been banned by the immediate former education CS Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi.
The 2016 KCPE candidates are also expected to join Form 1 on the first month of 2017 as opposed to the traditional February reporting dates.
After the confirmation of the news from surprisingly flustered industry officials and within minutes, the Kenyan media machinery swung into action as all local programming was interrupted to show the announcement.
The unconventional announcement caught education industry officials flat-footed, with both KNUT and KUPPET leaders expressing their guarded approval of the ‘ambush’ announcement when reached for comment.
The announcement comes after government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe earlier announcement of the dates slated for KCPE results announcement from 8th of December and KSCE in January 2017.
